and black and white.
BIT-A BLING
SOLO EXHIBITION
Works showing at Gallery ONE88 post April 2022 solo exhibition.
* UPDATE*Gallery ONE88 has closed its doors as an art gallery. Gallery NWC has taken over two floors (ground and level one) of this space now and has taken on a selection of artists previously represented by GalleryONE88.
BIT-A-BLING is a showcase of my scratch (scribble) and nocturnal (black and white) works on paper canvas alike. Held together by a common thread of BLING. Each piece, no matter the style, has the subject wearing some kind of jewellery as a form of self expression, or in this case, my idea of their self expression.
SCRATCH
Works on paper
A collection of works created with an expressive semi continuous lose line format, giving a sense of movement and life to the subject.
These works are a combination of pen on paper and pen and acrylic wash on paper.
NOCTURNAL
Ink and acrylic on canvas
Collection of nocturnal animals, birds and insects alike, painted on canvas in layers of ink or acrylic over black gesso. With shapes and symbols appearing in many of the pieces, creating a contemporary take on the traditional wildlife portrait.
TWISTED
Acrylic on canvas. Available works from this series showing at The Framing Studio Heathmont, Victoria, and Elwood Framing Studio, Victoria.
A collection of humanoids. Animal heads with human bodies from all walks of life. Small works on canvas with as much detail as possible to express the personality and individuality of each character.
AT PLAY
Pen on paper
At play was created to celebrate love and life. Work in several sizes of artline pens from fineliners through to markers. Every leaf, blade of grass, flick of hair is an individual stroke of a fineliner pen, the trunks and ground created with layers and layers of thick black markers to create solid colour void of texture.
